Welcome to the GVSU Trombone Studio!

About the Studio

The Grand Valley State University Trombone Studio has been under the direction of Dr. Mark R. Williams since the Fall of 2008. The trombone studio is composed of students who share a common interest in improving their skills as trombonists. All of the students perform in the GVSU Trombone Ensemble which presents concerts annually. Studio members also perform in Grand Valley's large ensembles and present solo recitals and chamber music performances. In addition, master classes and recitals are performed for students by guest trombone artists. Many students also participate in the Grand Rapids Symphony Student Passport program which allows them to purchase low-cost tickets to concerts by the Grand Rapids Symphony, one of the finest orchestras in the United States.
